Technical Questions
Why is the word count different from Microsoft Word or Google Docs?
Different tools may count words slightly differently, especially with:
- Hyphenated words (is "twenty-five" one word or two?)
- Contractions (is "don't" one word or two?)
- Numbers and symbols
- URLs and email addresses
For academic submissions, always verify with your required software (Word, Google Docs, etc.) before submitting.
Does it work offline?
Once you load the page, the word counter works even if you lose internet connection! Since all processing happens in your browser, you don't need an active internet connection to count words.
Is there a word limit?
No artificial limits! You can paste and analyze text of any length. However, extremely long documents (100,000+ words) may slow down older devices.
Can I save my text for later?
Wordlyze doesn't save your text (for privacy reasons), but you can:
- Use the "Copy" button to copy to clipboard
- Save to your own text editor or word processor
- Keep the browser tab open (text stays while tab is open)
Does it work with screen readers?
Yes! We've designed Wordlyze to be accessible with screen readers and keyboard navigation. If you encounter any accessibility issues, please contact us so we can fix them.

The page is loading slowly. Why?
Possible reasons and solutions:

- Device performance: Close unused tabs or restart your browser
